'When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we’ve already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we’re going, but we will know we want to be there.' Bruce Mau

This is a one night only event offering an insight into the often chaotic yet enchanting creative process of graphic design, showcasing work from a collective of MA graduates from London College of Communication.

Although we work across many different media, such as bookbinding, screen-printing, video installation and letterpress, each of us has had a clear path in the conceptual development of our work. We wish to fuse these

concepts together and observe what is created when these paths are intertwined. In doing so as a collective we are creating something new, which shows that we are always changing, always progressing and never ending.

Stephanie Mc Ardle

I'm from Ireland, based in London. My background has been varied within the world of digital media but that all changed when I rediscovered my passion for creating physical objects that exist outside a screen. This past year, during my MA Graphic Design, I have focused on the physical object of the book and have put all my energy into understanding this form so that I can design intriguing and beautiful books.

Book Syntax
The language of the book is an important and integral part of what a book is but often diverse from its content and invisible to its reader. Using Flann O’Brien’s novel, The Third Policeman, this project explores the possibility that the book form can be used to express the text contained within.
