'When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we’ve already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we’re going, but we will know we want to be there.' Bruce Mau

This is a one night only event offering an insight into the often chaotic yet enchanting creative process of graphic design, showcasing work from a collective of MA graduates from London College of Communication.

Although we work across many different media, such as bookbinding, screen-printing, video installation and letterpress, each of us has had a clear path in the conceptual development of our work. We wish to fuse these

concepts together and observe what is created when these paths are intertwined. In doing so as a collective we are creating something new, which shows that we are always changing, always progressing and never ending.

Iro Mavrogeni

My name is Iro Mavrogeni and i am a graphics designer, half Greek and half German in origin. My first degree was in Germany in communication design, after which I worked in a small studio for two years where I gained experience in creating print and digital work for private clients as well as more well known telecommunication firms such as Orange.

During my BA I developed an interest in the area of information design, which consequently let to the in depth analysis of this specific field in my major project. Furthermore, I achieved a masters in graphic design where I focused on information design, mental-cognitive mapping, perception in the urban landscape and had the opportunity to investigate and deepen my understanding by
undertaking a wayshowing and secondary signage project throughout central London.

Non-Places
The project is comprised of a signage and wayshowing system on the pavement which guides participants past the subterranean elements in the area of Holborn. The revelation of historical information along the ground during the walk aims to create a spatial connection between above ground and underground elements.

The project consists of a supplementary booklet with corresponding maps of the subterranean elements and a visual summary which exposes every individual aspect and element contained in the walk. Moreover the project consists of a video of the walk, a project report and a research & design process book.
